Brotherly Love
By the exercise of brotherly love we regard the whole human species as one family, the high and the low, the rich and the poor, who are to aid, support and protect each other.

Welcome, Brethren and Friends
Welcome to the home of Springfield Lodge No. 440, Free & Accepted Masons, in Springfield, Georgia, the county seat of Effingham County.
For generations, the Square and Compasses have stood for men who meet upon the level, act by the plumb and part upon the square. We are a fraternity of good men who strive to become better men, through Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.
The Principal Tenets of a Freemason
By the exercise of brotherly love we regard the whole human species as one family, the high and the low, the rich and the poor, who are to aid, support and protect each other.
To relieve the distressed is a duty incumbent on all men, but particularly on Masons. We soothe the unhappy, sympathize with their misfortunes, and support our community through charity.
Truth is a divine attribute and the foundation of every virtue. To be good and true is the first lesson we are taught in Masonry, and it guides our conduct in the lodge and in the world.
The Working Tools
Freemasonry teaches its lessons through the tools of the ancient stonemasons. Each one carries a moral meaning for the builder of character.
Upcoming at the Lodge
Stated communications and special events are posted here. Contact the Secretary for the current meeting schedule.
Freemasons do not recruit. A man becomes a Mason of his own free will and accord. If you want to be one, you only need to ask one.
